FAQs

Will you remove all the stains from my carpet?

We can't guarantee that all the stains on your carpet will be removed - no professional carpet cleaner can or should. Some spills can permanently stain the fibres or soak through to the carpet's backing. We will attempt to clean all stains, but some just can't be removed fully. We'll always talk through the expected results with you before we get started. We'll work hard on your carpet and have the equipment, supplies and know-how to get the best results possible for you. We can guarantee that your carpet will be thoroughly cleaned (and even show you the dirty water we've taken out of your carpets if you like). Hot water extraction is the best method for removing stains, ground in dirt, and odours. Even tough-to-remove stains like chocolate, mud or remains of pet deposits can be removed.

Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?

Moving as much as possible off the floors we'll be cleaning does help. We want to be able to clean as much as your carpet as we can reach.  We can move small items of furniture and clean underneath others. Sofas, chairs, etc. will be moved as long as it's safe for us and for your carpets to move them. We don't move large items of furniture for health and safety and insurance reasons. We'll clean around (and underneath where possible) items like wardrobes, bookcases, full dressers, and chests of drawers. Big beds without wheels will be also cleaned around and underneath where possible.

Do you need water and electricity?

We do need power to clean your property. If you think this will not be possible, please let us know when we are first quoting and we can work from there. We can carry a supply of water with us, but if your property is in a high rise flat, or an office in the centre of town, for example, we'd need to use the water on site. We'll confirm if water and electricity are accessible when we quote, but let us know if you think either could be a problem. That way we can clean your carpets without a hitch.

Should I vacuum before you arrive?

We recommend you give your carpets a good vacuum the day before your appointment. Vacuuming always throws some dust up into the air that later settles, and this way when we use our industrial vacuum cleaner on your already-hoovered carpet, we're getting the most debris possible out of your carpets before we start. This allows the treatment to penetrate your carpet fibres more deeply.

How long will my carpets take to dry?

Your carpets will be 80-90% dry when we leave. We deep clean right down to the bottom of the fibres (not the backing) but our equipment extracts most of the water. Carpets will take 1-4 hours to dry, depending on ventilation, the weather, and if the fibres are synthetic or natural (wool, for example, holds on to moisture and will take longer). We'd always recommend letting your carpets dry thoroughly before you replace furniture and start using normally, since if carpets are used heavily before dry, they will become dirty again more quickly.

Will the cleaning process give off smells?

If your carpeting is wool or a wool/synthetic mix (usually called 80/20), it can smell during the cleaning process and until it's completely dry. This is normal, it will disappear in a few days. Keeping rooms aired will help. Don't be tempted to put any powders (e.g. Shake 'N' Vac), perfumes, or chemicals on top of your carpet.

If you inherited the carpets in your property, there is a risk that leftover, dried in fluid (pet urine, for example) remains in the carpet. This can give off an odour when we're cleaning it out. This isn't something we can control, unfortunately, and we can't accept responsibility for unpleasant smells released by the cleaning process.

Do you need a parking space?

Yes, we do need a designated parking space for the duration of a clean.  Most of our customers have a designated parking space or provide a visitor permit badge. If this isn't possible, please let us know as soon as you can. We will try to pre-book a suitable public parking space if there's one available, and we'll add this charge to your bill. It is important for us to be able to park as close to the property/building as possible so we can carry our materials and machinery. Please make sure you let us know if you don't have a designated parking space for us. If no suitable parking is available we reserve the right to cancel a scheduled clean.

How Do I Pay You?

Payment is due on the day of cleaning for domestic customers. We prefer payment by BACs transfer if possible and will provide you with our bank details on the day. If you are unable to pay by BACs, we will accept cash payment before we leave for domestic customers. We'll provide you with a receipt. Commercial customers will be invoiced for completed work, with payment due within 14 days.

Are you qualified carpet cleaners?

We are fully trained and professional carpet cleaners, certified by Clean Smart.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We are fully insured, with public liability insurance up to £ 1 million. Our policy even covers items we work on (which is not the case with many carpet cleaning businesses).
